Many use these balls in order to treat urinary incontinence, as well as tone the muscles after an injury, or after having a child. They are an affordable and discrete way to do so, and come in an allergy-friendly silicone. The texture is relatively smooth, but the "design" shown in the picture is raised, and does cause a little bit of friction. If you want a completely smooth surface for them, you will want to look at another model instead. The string is a plastic material, which is a big improvement over other models, as theirs is a wax coated cotton that quickly wears out.
First time users, or those who experience vaginal discomfort may wish to use a light lubricant (make sure you use a water-based lubricant and not silicone-based, or oil-based) in order to get them into place. Some may want to start with just half of the toy in (one ball) and work their way up to both. The narrow space between them makes this relatively easy. Some may want to start by resting on a flat surface and squeezing gently to tone the muscle. Once this becomes comfortable or easy, they can move into a seated position, then into a standing one. Squatting positions may also be used in order to help with rehabilitation. If discomfort is felt, stop using them, and contact a professional if it becomes serious.
As the instructions that are included note, they should not be worn while sleeping, or for extended periods of time. Most often, they are left in place for up to a few hours, then removed for a period of time. Those using them for rehabilitation purposes may do several shorter sessions per day with them in order to tone the muscle.
Cleaning: In order to clean them, a simple warm to mildly hot water and a little gentle soap (I use antibacterial soap diluted) or a special toy cleaner will remove any contaminants or lubricant. The toy should be patted dry and stored either in a bag, or on the plastic stand included in the case.
Notes: as they are silicone based, they should never be used with silicone lubricants, or specialty lubricants. Water based only!
Who this product is good for: anyone looking to tone things up, or improve their muscle control, anyone who wants a unique sensation for intimate play.

My GF is roughly 5'1 and 100 lbs. She is a tiny thing. So it was to my surprise that these are kind of large for someone so tiny. We were able to get them in, but once they were in, she wasn't sure what they were supposed to do. They were kind of fun to pull out slowly, but because of their size, My GF didn't really find them to be all that fun, more painful than anything.
